The Florida Legislature recently passed Florida Statute 633.202, placing new requirements on Two-Way Radio Communication Enhancement Public Safety Signal Booster System, also known as Bi-Directional Amplification (BDA) Systems. A BDA System is an in-building communication system that brings wireless signals into the structure from outside, where signals are then amplified by a signal booster, and then evenly distributed via a Distributed Antenna System (DAS). The new state-wide statute, which becomes effective 12/31/2019, requires BDA Systems in existing commercial high-rises to be compliant by 1/1/2022 and existing residential high-rises to be compliant by 1/1/2025.
